Luna places a huge, pink frosted heart cookie on her picnic blanket. Suddenly, there is a loud rustling in the bushes. A big cookie monster tumbles into the clearing and grabs Luna's cookie jar.
The monster shakes the empty jar and howls terribly sad. Luna stands tall and protective in front of her pink cookie, stamping her foot firmly on the moss. "That's my love cookie!"
The monster droops its heavy shoulders and sniffs the sweet vanilla scent. "No one bakes love cookies for a monster," it grumbles, wiping away a big tear. Luna lowers her paws.
She looks from her perfect cookie to the crying shadow on the grass. Then she takes hold of the heavy treat. CRACK! Luna breaks the beautiful heart right in the middle. The monster blinks in complete surprise.
"Here, for you," says Luna, handing it the bigger, sticky half. The monster opens its mouth wide and takes a bite. Cookie pieces fly like confetti through the air, and it paints a funny smile of icing on its face.
Luna nibbles on her tiny half and giggles as the monster gently strokes her soft fur. Snuggled close together, they sit on the picnic blanket in the warm sun. The forest smells wonderfully of chocolate and new friends.
