Bedtime settled softly over the rooftop. Luna tipped her face up at the sky and wondered why the stars looked so sleepy tonight.
The rooftop felt extra quiet. Luna thought the sky looked tired, as if the stars wanted a little help staying awake.
So Luna pulled blanket corners into a tiny nest. It looked like the beginning of a very small night party.
Luna set out little shining things and made a quiet hum. The sound was so soft it seemed to float into the dark.
For one bright moment, the sky answered. Luna smiled up, thinking, There you are.
Then slow clouds drifted in. Gray spread over the roof until the stars disappeared again.
Luna stood very still for a minute. A sad feeling sat quietly inside, like a tiny stone.
Then Luna gathered the little lights close. Slowly, carefully, they began to move in circles across the rooftop.
Luna kept going, making dots and lines and gentle swirls. The humming came back, and the rooftop started to feel like its own little sky.
The clouds stayed, but Luna kept glowing and humming. High above them, a few faint twinkles answered back.
