Before going to sleep, Muckelina wiggles a loose tooth with her tongue. Plop! There lies the first baby tooth on the blanket. Muckelina holds it up between her paws and marvels. In the moonlight, it sparkles like a grain of rice.
Muckelina pulls out a small box from under the pillow. Carefully, Muckelina places the tooth inside and pushes the box back. Proud and excited, Muckelina whispers, "Tooth Fairy, can you find me here?" Outside, leaves rustle at the edge of the forest.
Muckelina snuggles in. But with every crack and rustle, Muckelina lifts her head and peeks out the window. Then Muckelina pulls out the box once more, wraps the tooth in a soft leaf, and says softly, "Thank you, little tooth." The leaf smells green and fresh.
Now Muckelina places the box neatly in the middle of the pillow. Muckelina waits with her eyes wide open in the silvery room. Muckelina wants to stay brave. But then suddenly, there’s a bang and a buzz at the window. Just a big moth! Muckelina can't help but giggle.
Once more, Muckelina listens to the night. Then she places a paw on the box and decisively pushes it back under the pillow. Finally, Muckelina falls asleep. In her dream, a delicate ringing passes by, and a bright shimmer sweeps over the edge of the pillow. In her sleep, Muckelina smiles and lets go of the tooth.
In the morning, Muckelina wakes up, lifts the pillow, and pulls out the small box. Inside is a lovely surprise: a shiny coin and a tiny star made of paper. Muckelina strokes over them with her paws as warm morning light streams through the window.
