Nora opened her bag on the bed. She put her little clothes and headscarf inside. Then she waved her socks in the air and said, "I am ready for Hajj!" She laughed when one fell on the lamp.
Nora ran to her mother and asked, "What does Hajj mean?" The mother pointed to the prayer rug and the passports on the table. She said softly, "It is a blessed journey where we learn about obedience and prayer." Nora nodded and touched the soft edge of the rug.
Nora returned to the bag excitedly. She tried to fit her big doll inside, but it got stuck in the zipper. Nora said, "Oh! It looks like the doll wants to go on Hajj before me." Then she gently pulled it out, laughing with a buzzing sound: zzzzt!
Nora walked around the house checking what she had packed: clothes, a toothbrush, and a small water bottle. Then she suddenly stopped. Where was her shoe? She looked under the chair and behind the curtain, and heard a rustling sound from the room. Then she spotted the tip of it under the bag.
Nora quickly pulled the bag. The shoe jumped out, with a sock rolled over it like a funny hat! Nora opened her eyes wide in surprise, then laughed out loud. After that, she placed the shoe by the door.
Nora finally closed her bag. She sat by the door with her family, holding her little passport and saying, "I am ready for a special journey." She smiled as she looked at the neatly packed bag and the lined-up shoes. The house was quiet and ready to go.
