Pipkin hopped out onto the marshmallow moon. Boing-boing! The ground bounced under Pipkin's boots.
Up went Pipkin. Higher than the rocket ladder!
Pipkin grabbed for the rung and missed. The little rocket drifted away through glittery dust.
Pipkin planted both boots in the squishy white fluff. Far below, Earth looked tiny and blue.
Pipkin poked the moon with a gloved paw. A puff came off. Pipkin squashed it into a long sticky rope.
"Maybe this will work," said Pipkin. The sweet rope stretched toward the rocket.
Jiggle. Stretch. Snap! The rope slapped Pipkin's helmet. "Pff!"
Pipkin looked all around the moon for another way.
Then Pipkin had an idea. One lump, two lumps, three! Pipkin patted a bouncy path toward Earth.
Pipkin bounced on the first lump. Poof! Then the second. Poof!
The last giant bounce flung Pipkin in a dizzy loop. Down came Pipkin beside a round crater instead of into the sky.
At the bottom of the crater, something sparkled. The rocket key!
Pipkin slid into the crater, snatched the key, and scrambled back up. But the marshmallow wall began to sag and slurp around Pipkin's boots.
The rocket swung close. Pipkin jammed the key into the remote button. WHOOMPH! The door popped open beside the crater.
Pipkin leaped inside just as white fluff splashed high behind.
Soon the rocket hummed toward Earth. Blue oceans grew wide in the window.
A little marshmallow blob wobbled on the dashboard. Pipkin smiled and peeled off the helmet. "Home," said Pipkin.
The sweet smell of toasted sugar faded behind as Pipkin flew home.
