Click. The room goes dark.
Glimmer pulls the blanket up and peeks out with wide eyes.
Then the little nightlight glows brighter. A star of light splashes onto the wall.
The dresser shines softly. The shadows stop looking so jumpy.
One paw slips out from the blanket. Glimmer follows the glow with careful steps.
On the chair, the light turns a shadow into a giant rabbit with long ears.
Glimmer lets out a tiny laugh. “Oh!”
By the striped wall, the rabbit seems to wave.
Glimmer points the nightlight toward a tall shadow by the door.
This time the shape becomes a wiggly dragon with a sock on its nose.
Glimmer freezes. Then plop! The sock drops to the floor, and Glimmer giggles.
Little sleepy stars begin to twinkle over the rug.
Glimmer climbs onto the bed and lifts the nightlight high.
Now the whole room is full of hidden shapes—boats in the curtains, mountains in the blankets, and tiny stars near the ceiling.
Glimmer gasps and turns slowly in the hush. Even the darkest corner looks friendly.
At last, Glimmer sets the nightlight back on the bedside table.
Under the blanket again, Glimmer smiles at the little golden pool on the wall where the rabbit waits.
The sleepy stars blink above the bed. Glimmer closes their eyes, and the night glows softly on.
