Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents, teachers, and creators ask before making their first book.

Is it safe to upload my child's photo?

Yes. Photos you upload are stored privately, used only to illustrate your book, and never sold, shared, or used to train AI models. You can delete a character at any time, and its uploaded photo is removed with it.

How long does it take to make a book?

Most books finish in 3–8 minutes, depending on length and art style. You'll watch each page appear as it's generated, and you can edit any page along the way.

What ages is Doodara designed for?

Books are designed for kids aged 2 to 10. When you pick a template or theme, AI matches the vocabulary, sentence length, and story complexity to the age you choose — so the same idea can become a bedtime board book or a chapter-style early reader.

Can I edit the story or change a page I don't like?

Yes. You can edit the text on any page directly, regenerate just one illustration if it doesn't match what you imagined, or rewrite the whole story from scratch. Nothing is locked in until you export — you stay in control of every page.

Who owns the story and illustrations?

You own the story text and ideas you write. The AI illustrations are licensed to you rather than transferred: every plan includes personal use — reading, sharing, and printing for your own family. Commercial rights come two ways — a one-time unlock covering the single book you bought it for, or a Pro plan covering everything you make.

Can I print my book?

Yes. Export a print-ready PDF and print it at home, at a copy shop, or with any print-on-demand service — page sizes are designed to meet common print-on-demand requirements. You can also export a fixed-layout EPUB or download the page images. Exporting is included with Pro, or $3.99 once for a single book. We don't print or ship books ourselves.

What if I'm not happy with the result?

You can regenerate any page until it looks right, and edit the text directly. If something still isn't working, email hello@doodara.com and we'll make it right.
