Abinaya blew out eight candle flames. The last one burst into a tiny purple spark—POP! It zipped through the open window, leaving glittering footprints across the cake. Abinaya grabbed her gift bag and raced after it.
The purple spark darted through a shimmering doorway beyond the window. Abinaya followed, clutching her bag as the doorway rippled like a pool of starlight. On the other side, enormous ferns swayed beneath a lavender sky.
Friendly dinosaurs lifted their heads and trumpeted, “Happy birthday!” Abinaya laughed as one dinosaur balanced a party hat on its nose. The purple spark bounced toward a sparkling waterfall, and every bright scale seemed to point the way.
Abinaya stepped across dinosaur-egg stones in the rushing stream. One wobbled. Another rolled. The final stone slipped away with a wobble-wobble-wobble, and Abinaya reached for a hanging vine.
Abinaya swung across the silver water. “Whoosh!” roared the stream below. The purple spark slipped behind the waterfall, vanishing behind a curtain of glittering spray. Abinaya landed safely and hurried toward the shining veil.
Abinaya pushed through the glittering curtain. Behind it stood a towering cake beneath the waterfall, glowing with eight enormous candles. The spark leaped from wick to wick, and the whole valley flashed purple, gold, and blue.
The dinosaurs cheered from the cavern. A little dinosaur sneezed, “Achoo!” Frosting flew and landed on Abinaya’s nose. POP! She giggled while the dinosaurs trumpeted louder, shaking sprinkles from the cake.
Abinaya lifted the purple spark onto the cake. It stretched into a shining birthday star above the frosting. The candles flared, and the dinosaurs’ cheers echoed through the valley like a joyful parade.
A gentle dinosaur carried Abinaya home beneath a sky full of glitter. She held the shining birthday star carefully, watching its light dance over the valley. Far below, the waterfall became a silver ribbon among the ferns.
Back at the birthday table, Abinaya held a purple star-shaped sprinkle in her hand. The eight candles flickered again, as if remembering their magical adventure. She smiled at the open window, where one last glittering footprint twinkled on the sill.
