The taller child said, 'Thanks.' Alice smiled a little.
Alice spotted a yellow ball bouncing on the grass. She pointed her wand and shouted, 'Come here!'
The ball floated three feet up, circled once, then bonked a boy on the head. Everyone laughed.
Alice dropped her wand beside a bench and sat down. Her tiara slid slightly forward over her eyes.
A small girl sat beside her and whispered, 'Can I be your friend?'
Alice smiled and handed the girl her wand. The girl scattered glitter over both of them.
They walked toward the school doors together, glitter falling from their hair and dresses.
