Ali burst into the colorful classroom. A red book lay on the floor, waiting beneath the sunny windows.
Ali picked it up. Thump! The book made a funny sound, and he grinned at the surprise.
Ali set the red book on a table. Under it, he found a yellow pencil.
Tap, tap. Ali touched the pencil, and it rolled across the bright floor. He followed its wiggly tip.
Ali caught the pencil beside two blue chairs. He stacked the pencil and book on one chair.
Whoosh! The stack slid down. Ali watched the book and pencil land softly on the floor.
Ali tried again. He placed the red book between the chairs and the pencil on top.
The pencil rolled straight through the gap like a tiny train. Ali laughed and chased it toward the playground.
Outside, Ali carried the red book and yellow pencil to the playground. He brought the two blue chair cushions, too.
Ali placed the cushions beside the slide. He set the book and pencil on top, ready for another rolling game.
