Anabella Franco rushed into science class and placed her pizza-shaped project on Ms. Dayana’s desk. The classroom clock ticked loudly above the bright windows.
Boing! A spring popped out. Anabella squeaked, then giggled as Ms. Dayana stuck a shiny merit star on her notebook.
At home, Anabella carried the project to the kitchen table. Oliver waited beside the chair while she connected the wires.
Oliver sniffed the wires. Achoo! Paper stars flew across the room, and Anabella laughed while gathering them from the floor.
Anabella tried the experiment again. The stars spun once, then stopped, so she checked every piece while Oliver nudged a loose button with his nose.
Anabella pressed the button again. The paper pizza spun into the air above Oliver’s head, and she cheered, “It works!”
Oliver barked and chased the floating slices around the kitchen. Anabella clapped as the paper pizza zipped past a bowl of apples.
The next day, Anabella brought the working project back to school. Ms. Dayana placed another merit sticker beside the first one.
