Archie the strawberry-shaped letter A bounded into the Alphabet Garden. His top petals bounced with every step. Then he stopped. The garden was perfectly still.
Archie looked for his letter friends. Only his own reflection shimmered in a dewdrop on a broad green leaf.
Archie tapped his foot. He hummed a tune. A cricket chirped once. Once only. The garden stayed empty.
A red B bounced over the hedge like a ball, landing with a soft thump. Then a green C rolled in, wobbling like a wheel. Archie waved, but C rolled right past him and bumped into a daisy.
Archie clapped. B giggled. C righted himself and sneezed a tiny puff of green pollen. Then D waddled in — slow and round, trailing a line of small footprints behind him.
The four letters sat together on the warm garden path. Archie leaned against B, who leaned against C, who leaned against D. They were all there.
Archie closed his eyes and smiled. His strawberry seeds seemed to sparkle.
All the letters were finally together in the Alphabet Garden.
