Deep in the forest, there is a schoolhouse inside a giant hollow oak tree.
Barnaby opens a large picture book. Pip leans in too eagerly, his tail knocking over a stack of wooden blocks. The blocks clatter. Pip's ears droop.
Barnaby smiles and points to the first word.
Pip traces the word 'log' with his claw. He sounds it out: 'Luh-og. Log!' The letters on the page seem to dance.
Pip points to the sentence 'The fox runs fast.' He reads each word slowly. He trips over 'fast' and says 'blast.' A wooden acorn cap bounces off his nose.
Barnaby chuckles softly.
On his third try, Pip reads the sentence carefully: 'The fox runs fast.'
The word 'fast' glows briefly. Pip's tail wags once. He looks up at Barnaby, beaming.
Barnaby ruffles Pip's fur.
They turn the page together.
The hollow oak tree grows quiet, save for the soft rustle of pages.
Pip reads another word, slower but sure.
