The red carpet stretched before them. Cameras flashed and reporters shouted. Boss found Noeul's hand in the blur and squeezed once.
"Boss! Noeul! Over here!" fans shouted. Noeul squeezed back, and a smile creased the corner of his mouth.
On the talk show, Boss answered every question. Noeul fiddled with the mic stand, spinning it slowly.
When it was Noeul's turn, Boss leaned close and whispered into the mic. The host laughed. Noeul hid his grin behind his hand.
Backstage, four assistants swarmed Boss with scripts and water bottles and a tiny umbrella. Noeul tugged his sleeve. Boss dropped the umbrella and followed.
They climbed to a small rooftop where the city hummed below. A paper fan spun lazily on a crate. They sat close, shoulders touching, watching it go round and round.
The next morning, a reporter posted a photo of them on the rooftop. Fans called it the sweetest thing ever.
Boss read the article again. Noeul lowered the fan just a little, then a little more, until Boss could see his smile.
