The farmhouse glowed golden in the early morning light. Smoke curled from the chimney. Biboy padded down the dirt path.
Biboy tiptoed into the kitchen. Nanay was frying eggs in the pan. He pointed to the sink full of dirty plates. "Can I help?"
Biboy climbed onto a stool. He scrubbed hard. Soap bubbles flew everywhere! One popped on his nose with a tiny squeak. He giggled.
The water turned cold. Biboy shivered. He looked around for someone to help him warm it up.
"Ate, can you help?" Biboy called. Ate dropped a pillowcase on his head and winked. "Ask Nanay!"
Biboy washed the last plate. A giant bubble formed. It floated up, catching the sunrise. Rainbow colors painted the kitchen wall.
The bubble drifted toward the doorway and popped with a soft whisper. Nanay, Tatay, and Ate walked in. Nanay hugged Biboy. Tatay ruffled his hair. Ate high-fived him.
Biboy smiled. The kitchen was clean. And it smelled like home.
