The moon is high. Bimo tiptoes out of bed. His eyes are wide with secret excitement.
The floorboards creak. He reaches for the kitchen door handle. His heart beats fast.
The kitchen is warm. A coconut cake sits on the table—still hot.
A cat jumps up! Green eyes stare right at him. Bimo freezes.
Bimo hides behind the fridge. 'Don’t tell Grandma,' he whispers.
The cat nudges the cake toward his foot. Then it flicks its tail.
He takes a tiny bite. Then places it back. Humming softly now.
He tiptoes back. His steps are light. The house sleeps around him.
Grandma wakes. Her voice is warm: 'You were hungry, my little moonbeam?'
She pulls him close. Her hand brushes his hair. They share one sweet moment.
The sun rises. The house wakes. But this memory stays safe, just between them.
Bimo closes his eyes. He dreams of coconut cake, green eyes, and a whispering tail.
