Biscuit waddled behind his girl through the living room. His tabby stripes shone in the sunbeam.
He dropped down with a happy sigh. His purr was so loud the windows rattled.
She carried a book into the kitchen and sat at the table. But the door was closed!
He squeezed underneath and landed with a soft *thump*. She laughed and scratched behind his ears.
She walked into the hallway. Biscuit galloped after her — right into the bedroom door!
He spotted her on the bed and his purr rumbled back — a tiny engine again.
She got up and headed for the windowsill. Biscuit wove between her legs as she sat down.
He purred so loud she had to cover her ears. "Biscuit!" she laughed.
Biscuit settled into her lap. His round belly pressed warm against her.
"You're my very best friend," she whispered. Biscuit purred louder. He never wanted to leave.
