Brnnnng! Brnnnng! The backyard rocket hummed. Govardhan pointed and shouted, "I want to fly!"
The launch pad hummed under his feet as he climbed into the rocket. Inside, he buckled the strap against his tummy. Click.
He flipped the ignition switch. Nothing. He flipped it again. Still nothing.
Govardhan pushed the big red button until it popped with a loud CLICK. The engine roared!
Three, two, one— WHOOSH! The rocket shot upward. Stars twinkled past the window!
He pressed his nose to the glass. A star winked at him. He waved hello.
The rocket landed with a soft thud on the moon. Govardhan hopped out. His boots made deep prints in the gray dust.
He looked up at Earth and waved. Already he dreamed of the next launch.
