Bramble trotted through the enchanted forest. Something shimmered ahead — silver leaves dancing in the breeze.
A trail of silver leaves fluttered and twirled ahead of him. His tail lifted, tip quivering with curiosity. They whispered as they went.
A butterfly with glowing wings zipped between the trees. Bramble pounced — but it darted away, leaving sparkling dust that smelled like pine.
The dust settled. Bramble sniffed — warm pine, sweet earth. Then he spotted something between the trees: a circle of smooth grey stones.
He nudged one mushroom. It glowed blue — soft, then brighter. It pulsed like a tiny heartbeat.
Then — ting! The mushrooms rang like crystal bells. Something moved behind the trees.
Three faces peeked out. One wore glasses. One had a tall orange crest. One had long floppy ears. Bramble sat down slowly.
"I have a berry," Bramble thought. He set it down on the moss and waited.
The creatures crept closer. One by one, they stepped into the circle. The mushroom light grew warmer.
The mushrooms began to dance — pulsing blue, then gold, then blue again. The creatures swayed. Bramble's tail curled around his paws.
They watched together as the little lights floated up into the trees. The forest hummed softly, happy and still.
Bramble stayed a while longer. The mushrooms sang their quiet song, and the forest held them all in its golden breath.
