Bramble balanced a green triangle on the very top of his giant block tower. Clatter-smash! The wooden pieces scattered all over the scratchy nursery rug. He thought about his ruined tower with a scowl, then kicked a red square hard across the floor.
Badger pushed a wooden block train along the floor. Still frowning, Bramble marched over and swatted the wooden tracks with his fluffy paws. Clack! The little train spun away into the corner as Badger flattened his ears against his head.
Next, Bramble stomped over to Squirrel. She was carefully stacking a tall block bridge together. Bramble swung his fluffy paws again, knocking the bridge down with a heavy thud. Squirrel dropped her last piece and walked quietly away.
Bramble stood completely alone in a wide circle of knocked-over toys. He took a slow, deep breath, feeling the cool classroom air on his nose, and blew it out. He looked down at his extra-fluffy paws. Slowly, he picked up a fallen wooden block.
Badger and Squirrel were trying to build a brand new mega-tower together. Bramble scurried to join them just as the very top block began to tip. He shot out his paws and caught it! The smooth, painted wood rested safely in his soft grip.
Bramble gently placed the block, helping his friends stack the tower all the way to the ceiling. "Good helping paws," Badger chimed. Bramble lifted his hand for a high-five. The bright smack of their paws rang out across the bustling woodland room.
