Brooklyn guided Penny along the sunny trail. Wildflowers flashed past her boots. Then Penny's hooves slowed — right in front of a giant wooden jump.

Brooklyn tried to post on, but Penny planted her hooves and huffed. Brooklyn slid off and tugged the bar — it wobbled alarmingly. Penny flicked an ear and stomped.

Brooklyn climbed back up and tried to turn around. A butterfly fluttered by — Penny chased it in a big circle. She landed right in front of the jump again.

The butterfly landed on the top bar and wiggledd its wings. Brooklyn noticed Penny's ears were pricked and she was tapping her front hoof impatiently.

We can do this, Penny, Brooklyn whispered. She squeezed her legs and held on tight.

Penny galloped forward and leaped. A heartbeat of flying — wings of the jump shadowing them.

They landed with a triumphant clip-clop. Brooklyn buried her fingers in Penny's mane and let out a breathless giggle.

Penny did a happy little sidestep and nudged Brooklyn's shoulder with her nose. The trail stretched on, bright and easy.

Brooklyn didn't even notice the jump behind them anymore. She patted Penny's neck and looked ahead.

Wildflowers flashed past her boots again. The sun warmed her face. Everything felt easy now.

Brooklyn rode on, the trail opening up before them like a long golden ribbon.

Behind them, the wooden jump stood quiet. Ahead, there was only the trail — and the next adventure waiting.
