The house grows quiet as night arrives. The crickets outside the window begin their steady tick-tick-tick. A silver path of moonlight stretches across the bedroom floor, and the empty bed waits patiently.
Chorizo's heavy eyelids droop onto the fluffy pillow. His long sausage-dog body curls tight as the door clicks shut behind him. Then a glowing dandelion puff drifts through his dream, hovering just beyond his nose. Chorizo bolts upright — a dream-chase begins!
The meadow shimmers under silver moonlight. The dandelion bobs over wildflowers and dips low through clover. Chorizo's little paws drum against the grass as he chases, ears flying, determined to catch that gentle, glowing light.
He dives left! He scrambles right! Under a low-hanging oak branch, the chase winds through clover and stone. The dandelion glows brighter with every near miss — always one leap ahead, winking at him.
Cornered against the stone wall, the dandelion trembles — it cannot decide whether to stay or fly. Chorizo pants in happy frustration, ears flapping wildly. Then — he pounces, arms wide. Caught!
But the dandelion bursts into a thousand shimmering sparkles! They swirl around him like a soft wind, wrapping him in a blanket of light. A tiny voice, warm as fresh bread, whispers right against his ear. His long body goes limp with comfort.
The meadow fades to velvet darkness. Chorizo lies curled on his warm bed again, one paw twitching as the last sparkle settles against his nose. His breathing slows — slow, slow, slow.
The crickets hum a lullaby outside. Chorizo sighs, sinks deeper into the pillow, and drifts back into the dream — chasing that same gentle, glowing light once more.
