Daisy kicked her webbed feet. SPLASH! By the yellow wildflowers, she poked her beak into a damp reed and found a tiny green frog shivering in the mud.
"Can I help?" Daisy whispered. The tiny frog blinked its big gold eyes and hopped onto her back.
They waddled through ticklish reeds, stopping to listen at every strange sound. The frog tried to leap — SPLUTCH — right into a puddle.
Daisy pulled him out and dusted the slime away with her wing. Then she puffed her feathers and let out the loudest QUACK she could manage.
Her quack rippled across the pond and bounced off the willow branches. Three green frogs hopped out from behind the cattails, and a wobbling mother followed.
The tiny frog leaped into his mother's arms. KICK-KICK-KICK! His happy vibrations shook against Daisy's foot.
The frog family settled on a wide lily pad just for Daisy. The tiny frog waved a sticky webbed hand and splashed back into the water.
Daisy dipped her head in the cool pond and made a happy little splash. GOODBYE, friends.
