Eisa let go of the sofa. His legs wobbled across the carpet.
He reached the coffee table and turned around. "Mama!" His mama dropped her book.
Eisa walked to the bedroom and pointed. "Cat!" The cat's tail flicked once.
Eisa spotted a bright red ball. He patted it. "Ball!" Then he walked to the window and pointed again. "Cat!"
Eisa hid behind the big armchair. He covered his eyes with both hands.
His mama counted out loud. When she found him, Eisa clapped and cried, "Mama! Cat! Ball!"
Mama picked him up and spun around until Eisa laughed.
The kitchen door opened. Garlic and tomato filled the hallway. Eisa waddled to the table.
Eisa pointed at his plate, then at his mama, then at the cat by her feet.
"Mama! Cat! Ball!" Eisa said again, and they all laughed.
