The dry ground cracked under Ella's pink foot. A loud CRACK echoed through the clearing.
Ella stomped her pink foot again. The giant rock blocked the water hole completely.
Deano charged forward and pushed with all her might. Her horns scraped against the stone.
A harsh screeching sound made Ella’s ears flap nervously. She stepped back slightly.
A nearby monkey laughed and shook his head. He tossed a banana peel at them.
'Crazy idea!' he chirped while swinging away. They were left alone with the stuck rock.
Ella and Deano linked their legs and pushed together. They moved in a rhythm.
Stomp-stomp-push! The rock wobbled, then rolled with a heavy THUD into a bush.
They stood panting, watching the cool, sparkling water reveal itself below.
Ella smiled at Deano. They had done it together. The water was safe.
