Emma pushed through a curtain of hanging vines and gasped. The forest floor was sprinkled with glowing flowers that blinked on and off like tiny nightlights.

Leo grabbed her hand and tugged her forward. His sneakers crunched on golden moss as they walked deeper into the glowing forest.

A small rabbit hopped into their path and stopped dead. Its ears drooped straight down. "I can't find my burrow," it whispered.

Emma crouched down and held out her hand. The rabbit sniffed once, then twice, and its ears perked up just a little.

Three fireflies drifted down from the ancient trees and hovered in a wobbly line. Emma and Leo followed them, stepping over thick roots.

The fireflies kept zigzagging and the path kept splitting. Every time a shadow moved, the rabbit's tail puffed up like a tiny ball of fluff.

Suddenly all three fireflies zoomed upward and formed a perfect spiral, glowing brighter than ever before. Emma laughed out loud.

The rabbit bounced in place, its little paws clapping together. They followed the spiral deeper until the trees grew thin and the ground dipped.

Emma spotted a round hole half-hidden behind a curtain of ferns. Inside she could see little nests of soft leaves and a tiny wooden bowl.

The rabbit squealed with joy and scampers inside, then pops back out with the tiny bowl. It presses the bowl into Emma's hands.

The berries were still warm from the sun and smelled like summer rain. Emma held the bowl close and smiled at the rabbit.

The rabbit nudged the bowl one more time, then turned and hopped back toward its burrow, its tail bouncing like a little cotton ball.
