Parcival kicked the football across the sunny field. It bumped the goal with a funny BOING! “Who wants to play?” he shouted.
Children hurried over from every side. The football rested in the grass, ready for a new game.
Parcival rolled the football to a child using a wheelchair. A footrest tapped it back. Tap, tap, WHOOSH! The ball skipped across the grass.
One child needed extra time. Parcival waited, then pointed to a wide goal. “Take your time,” he said.
The children passed, waited, and cheered. Shoes thumped. Grass swished. The game moved at everyone’s pace.
Then a wild kick sent the football over the goal. SPLASH! It landed in a blue bucket of water.
Parcival pulled out the dripping football. It squirted water with every bounce. Everyone laughed.
Parcival rolled the football into the middle. “Everyone gets a turn!” he called.
A child kicked. Another tapped with a footrest. Someone rolled, and someone tossed. The football traveled toward the goal.
The football bumped across the line. “Together!” Parcival called. The whole field erupted with cheers.
They changed the rules so everyone could join. The football rolled from friend to friend beneath the bright sun.
Laughter and happy shouts filled the field. Tap, roll, kick, toss—play kept going.
