In the Whispering Woods, glowing mushrooms lit the path like tiny stars.
Fable's paws brushed something warm beneath a fern. A silver compass — the needle spinning wild.
He pocketed it and trotted toward the mossy clearing. "I found this all by myself!" he called out proudly.
The friends gasped. The compass shimmered with a bright magical light.
Fable led the way through roots and glowing blue mushrooms. The compass spun and spun — then jerked wildly.
"It's broken!" Pip squeaked. They tumbled into a tangle of roots that closed around Fable's legs.
Bramble dug his claws. Wren flapped and hooted. But the roots held tight.
Fable's ears drooped. The compass glowed dimly against the dark bark.
"I didn't find it alone," Fable whispered. "I found it with you. All of you."
The compass flared bright gold — and the roots sprang open with a loud POP!
A hidden path unfolded — lined with hundreds of tiny glowing mushrooms like fireflies.
Fable stepped free. His tail wagged slowly.
Bramble nudged Fable with his nose. "Next time, tell the truth."
Fable held the compass out so everyone could see it together.
Together, they followed the golden light down the glowing path.
The Whispering Woods shimmered around them — bright, warm, and full of friends.
