At Triniti School in Paraguay, Franco Damian Claure Maidana rolled a bright blue ball across the playground. It raced toward the open gate.
The ball zoomed past the gate and into a puddle. SPLASH! “Wait!” shouted Franco Damian Claure Maidana, running after it.
Franco Damian Claure Maidana grabbed a long stick and reached for the ball. It flipped into a flowerpot instead, while mud dotted his shoes.
Ana Ceci giggled and helped search beside the flowerpot. “There it is!” she cried, pointing under a broad green leaf.
Franco Damian Claure Maidana and Ana Ceci followed the ball to the school steps. From the path, Bruno and Leandro arrived with two adults and a towel.
Everyone called, “Roll this way!” Franco Damian Claure Maidana kicked the ball, and it bounced off the steps with a loud BOING.
The ball landed in the teacher’s empty bucket. Franco Damian Claure Maidana froze, then laughed as everyone cheered.
Franco Damian Claure Maidana carried the rescued ball home with Ana Ceci beside him. Bruno, Leandro, Mom, and Dad followed close behind.
