Luna found a shiny blue button in the grass. She held it up to her ear and heard a tiny click-click.
The wind rustled the trees. Luna wondered where the button came from. Click-click again—almost like a secret.
Luna ran to the old oak tree. She tugged the trunk—it didn’t answer. She patted the bark—only click-click.
A squirrel chattered high above, hiding its acorn with a quick tail swipe. Luna smiled. Maybe it knew something.
Luna climbed onto a low branch. Her pocket slipped—the button bounced! It rolled past a daisy...
...and stopped under a sleeping snail’s shell. The snail lifted its head slowly. Then it whispered, 'Thank you for my new hat.'
Luna giggled. Her laugh made the sun peek out from behind the clouds. Warmth spilled over the hillside.
Luna put the button on her collar. It clicked every time she walked home. She hummed a secret song.
