The sun is going down, and the sky turns orange. emily tucks every toy back into its home — blocks in the box, the train at the station. "See you tomorrow, toys!"
Bubble bath time! The white bubbles float up like tiny clouds. emily scoops a big handful and blows — whoosh, off they fly! Even the rubber duck rides the bubbly waves.
Star pajamas on — Captain Star emily reporting for duty! Fists on hips, chin up high. Tonight's big mission: guard all the sweet dreams till morning.
Brush, brush! Up and down, this side, that side. In the mirror, a funny bubbly mustache appears — hee hee! Soon every little tooth is shiny bright.
A cup of warm milk — glug, glug. It feels like a tiny sun glowing softly in the tummy. Outside the window, the very first star gives a little wink.
emily tucks Teddy in too, pulling the tiny blanket right up to his chin. "Time for bed, little bear. Sweet dreams — I'll be right here beside you."
"Goodnight, toy car. Goodnight, blocks. Goodnight, little bunny." emily waves a slow, gentle wave to every friend on the shelf. "Goodnight, everyone. See you in the morning."
Outside, the big round moon is rising, spilling silver light onto the windowsill. "The moon is keeping watch tonight," emily whispers, chin in hands, gazing and gazing.
emily climbs under the blanket — so soft, so warm. Teddy is already waiting on the pillow. Then comes one great big yawn… aaah-hooo! emily's eyes are getting heavy now.
Shhh… emily is fast asleep now, hugging Teddy close, a tiny smile on those rosy cheeks. In the dream float soft clouds and slow-blinking stars. Goodnight, emily. Sleep tight.
