A troublemaker tipped a basket, and apples bounced across the cheerful town square. Harper raced after them. “Come back!”
One apple bounced beneath Harper’s shoe. Whoosh! Bright blue wind lifted him high above the square as the bell rang below.
Harper zoomed down in a blue streak. He gathered every apple just before it splashed into the fountain. “Got you!”
A sack flew toward Harper. Achoo! Flour burst into a white cloud, covering the troublemaker from head to toe.
The troublemakers grabbed the town flag and ran. Harper stretched one arm across the street and caught it. “Not today!”
The troublemakers charged with a cart. Harper flew in front and stopped it with both hands. Flowers tumbled onto his head like a silly crown.
The troublemakers dropped their empty sacks and hurried away. Harper carried the floury flag back while petals bobbed on his head.
Harper returned the apples and flowers as the town bell jingled above. Cheers filled the square, and every path was clear again.
