Hello Kitty walked down her sunny street. She held a pink heart close to her chest and stepped over colorful tiles.
She approached the children from behind. Her paws gripped the heart tighter. A red ball rolled past her shoes without stopping.
A white rabbit hopped across the grass. Hello Kitty reached out with the heart, but the rabbit flicked its tail and bounded away.
She lowered the heart and started walking home. Her ears drooped slightly toward the ground.
Suddenly the girl with the red ball gasped. "Look! She has a heart just like ours!"
The children and the rabbit all gathered around. The girl gently took the cat's paws and pulled her into the circle.
Hello Kitty sat on the grass with the pink heart resting in the middle of the group.
One by one, the children and the rabbit each placed a hand on the heart, smiling.
She rested her own paw on top and laughed. The wind blew her bow sideways.
The park felt bright and full. Hello Kitty was no longer walking alone.
