Buzzby zipped from flower to flower, slurping nectar into a honey-filled pocket. A tall bloom bent with a loud POP!
The petal flipped Buzzby into a yellow tumble. “Again!” Buzzby buzzed, then shot toward the busy hive.
Buzzby reached the hive and passed the nectar along. Bees carried it deeper inside while quick wings fanned the sweet liquid. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
The sweet smell grew stronger. Nectar moved from bee to bee, changing as the whole hive worked together.
Buzzby followed the beekeeper into the honey room. She lifted a heavy honeycomb frame toward the waiting filter.
Golden honey slipped through the filter. Plink, plink, plink! Bits of wax stayed behind.
Suddenly, a sticky stream splashed near Buzzby and caught one tiny foot. Buzzby buzzed and wiggled beside the dripping filter.
The beekeeper gently freed Buzzby’s foot. Honey flowed neatly into jars, while plenty stayed in the hive for the bees.
Back at the hive, Buzzby joined the humming work. A little jar waited nearby as the team fanned more golden sweetness.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Outside, wildflowers swayed. Inside, the buzzing team made more honey.
