Jeníček found a bright blue kite tangled in the garden fence. He tugged the string hard, but it stayed stuck.
The wind whistled softly through the leaves. Jeníček ran to find his sister Mařenka drawing on the path.
'Help me,' he says, pointing at the sky. Mařenka looks up and sees the trapped kite.
They pull together, one hand on each side of the string. The kite jumps up, then drops down.
It flaps its wings like a confused bird. Jeníček holds the spool tight while Mařenka guides the line.
The kite suddenly flies free, circling high above their heads. Jeníček and Mařenka laugh as it dances around the old oak tree.
Mařenka holds the spool while Jeníček steers the kite. They stand shoulder to shoulder, watching the blue shape soar.
The sun shines brightly as the kite dances against the clouds. Jeníček smiles, knowing they did it together.
