The backstage area glowed neon pink and blue. Kinda walked in carrying a snack box.
Rumi, Mira, and Zoey turned and waved. "Snack time!" Kinda set the box down with a happy clatter.
Rumi opened the box and gasped. Her lucky star was missing! Kinda knelt to look under the couch.
A crinkly wrapper sounded from inside. Kinda reached in and pulled something shiny.
"You found it!" Rumi grabbed the cookie and hugged it tight.
Mira and Zoey cheered. All four girls did a silly dance and the neon lights flashed wildly.
The girls ran onto the big stage. Spotlights hit them and the crowd roared.
Zoey tripped on her glittery shoe and tumbled into a pile of scarves. The crowd went wild!
The girls laughed until they could hardly breathe. The audience cheered and clapped.
After the show, Kinda passed out warm cookies. "Thank you, Kinda," Rumi whispered.
Rumi squeezed Kinda's hand. "We couldn't do this without you." Kinda smiled.
The stage lights pulsed pink and blue. They sat together, full and happy.
