The tall grass swayed as Kion watched. A great shadow stretched across the Pride Lands. Yellow eyes gleamed from the darkness.
Kion's paws dug into the warm earth. "I will not let this stand," he thought.
Every morning, Kion practiced his roar. He leaped over dry logs and charged through dusty brush.
The ground shook beneath his feet. "Soon," he told the wind. "I'll be ready."
Kion marched straight to Scar's rocky den. The old lion hissed and snapped his jaws.
Kion planted his paws and let out a roar so loud it shook the rocks.
Scar stumbled backward, eyes wide with surprise.
The sun broke through the clouds and painted everything gold. The Pride Lands were safe again.
