courage and peace

A rumbling shook the ground. Kiran ran outside and looked up. A galaxy monster floated above the country, glowing purple and green.

Kiran clenched his fists. He thought he could become an army and save his country.

Kiran grabbed a wooden sword, a tin helmet, and a red cape. He lined up toy soldiers on the table.

The toy soldiers tipped over. Kiran picked them up one by one and lined them up again.

Kiran put on his tin helmet and red cape. He marched toward the mountain where the monster waited.

A wide river cut across the land, its silver waters rushing over dark stones.

Kiran stomped his boots at the water's edge. He thought hard, then pushed a fallen log into the river.

Splash, splash — Kiran reached the other side. He climbed the mountain and found the galaxy monster.

The galaxy monster was huge, with five glowing eyes and wriggling tentacles. But it was hiding behind a rock, trembling.

Kiran stepped forward. The monster peeked out with one eye. Kiran lowered his wooden sword and held out a shiny blue marble.

The monster reached out a tentacle and took the marble. It made a soft purring sound, like a giant cat.

The galaxy monster floated back toward the stars, the blue marble glowing in its tentacle. Kiran waved. The monster waved back. Kiran marched home, his cape fluttering. The country was quiet and peaceful.
