She pressed a coin into the slot and lay back on the plush pink recliner. The vibrating feathers swooped down, tickling her ribs. She kicked her legs and wheezed with laughter. Lacey checked her watch and scrambled up, her cheeks flushed.
The next afternoon, Lacey dashed back — but the pink recliner was folded up. The sign was blank. She knocked on the cabinet door and heard a muffled giggle from inside. Her heart leapt.
The handle clicked open slowly. Darkness breathed out — then a sliver of pink light. Another recliner waited inside. A frilly towel was folded neatly on the seat. Lacey's eyes went wide.
The cabinet door swung fully open. Lacey stepped inside. The room glowed like a secret bedroom — fairy lights, soft cushions, and shelves full of feather ticklers.
A girl with bright blue sneakers slid out from behind the curtain, holding a handful of goose feathers. 'I found your secret stash,' she whispered with a grin. 'Want to try my stash?'
They sat side by side on the twin pink recliners and began tickling each other's feet. The girl in blue sneakers giggled uncontrollably, her laces flapping. Lacey couldn't keep still.
