Lula the little ladybug wakes up in her cozy home. She looks at her red shell in the mirror. 'My shell is blank!' she thinks. 'Where are my favorite black dots?'
She taps her wings — tap, tap. Her reflection shows a smooth red shell. No dots anywhere. 'I can't find them,' she thinks sadly.
Lula marches into the garden. She asks a blue butterfly, 'Have you seen my black dots?' Flutter-flutter, the butterfly points toward a tall sunflower.
Lula climbs up the tall sunflower's stem. Peep-peep! A goldfinch hops from leaf to leaf above her. She looks up hopefully.
Lula walks to a patch of clover and hears a soft buzz. Bzzzt! A bumblebee rolls onto his back and waves his legs at her.
Lula drags her feet back home. No dots anywhere in the garden. She pushes open the closet door and gasps.
There they are — her black dots, folded neatly on a tiny shelf like a stack of cozy blankets. Lula gasps. The dots are soft and warm to the touch.
Click. Click. Click. Lula presses each dot onto her shell, one by one. She wiggles her wings — they sparkle! Lula does a happy spin in her room.
