Milo arranged crackers and juice boxes on the coffee table. Then Bruno kicked the door open!
Milo covered his ears. Bruno grinned and offered him one cracker.
Milo bit the cracker. CRUNCH! The doorbell rang, and Tristan arrived with a giant red balloon.
Tristan pushed the balloon inside. It stuck in the doorframe. “Pull!” cried Bruno.
The balloon popped with a giant BOING! Everyone laughed. Milo pointed at the scattered snacks.
Bruno and Tristan gathered crackers. Milo found a funny hat in Bruno’s backpack.
Milo wore the hat and struck a pose. Bruno and Tristan burst out laughing.
Milo told a crumbly-cookie joke. Bruno snorted, and Tristan wheezed.
Milo reached for juice. Every box was empty. Bruno revealed a giant carton.
The carton tipped. SPLASH! Juice covered Milo’s shirt and Bruno’s silly face.
Milo giggled. Bruno and Tristan joined in until all three toppled onto the rug.
They wiped the juice mess. Fresh boxes waited on the clean table.
They told the cookie joke again in funny voices. Milo snorted juice through his nose.
They high-fived, grinning across the messy room. “Best afternoon ever,” said Milo.
