Leianna spots a bright blue sign that reads PLAYGROUND with a giant yellow L at the beginning. She points and says, "L!"
Her finger traces the smooth, cold letters. She skips toward the gate, looking for more Ls.
Leianna climbs a ladder, counting each rung, and at the top she sees a bronze lion statue guarding a sandbox.
She waves, and the lion's tail seems to twitch. She scrambles down, eager to find another L.
Leianna runs into the park, jumps to touch an L-shaped sign on a golden lamppost, and her feet slap against the pavement.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blows autumn leaves into a giant L shape right in front of her, and she gasps, standing in the middle of it.
She stands in the middle of the leaf L, eyes wide with wonder, tracing the shape with her gaze.
At home, Leianna sees her name on a monogrammed towel, with a big, bold L at the start. She points and says, "That's my L!"
Her mom smiles and hands her the towel, and Leianna wraps it around her shoulders like a cape, strutting across the room.
She poses in front of a mirror, tapping her chin like a queen or king. The L shines on her cape.
She skips to her room and finds a drawing notebook. On the first page, she writes a giant L with a crayon.
Leianna smiles. She found the L she was looking for — and it is hers.
