Leo stomped into the waiting room. His dinosaur toy clattered to the floor. He tried to look tough, but he wasn't ready.
"Leo?" the nurse called. Leo froze. He clutched his dinosaur so tight his knuckles turned white.
The doctor walked in with a shiny tray. Tick-tock-click went the tools inside. Leo hid behind his dinosaur.
The doctor held up a big thermometer. Leo backed up until his legs hit the table. Then the doctor showed him a rocket sticker!
The doctor rolled up Leo's sleeve. Leo squeezed his eyes shut. Tick-tock — it was over before he knew it.
Leo peeked one eye open. The needle was gone! A tiny white bandage with ducks replaced it. He let out a surprised laugh.
Leo walked to the front desk. The nurse handed him the rocket sticker. He stuck it on his dinosaur shirt.
Leo strutted toward the door with his chest puffed out. Morning sunlight flooded the entrance. He walked right into the light without looking back.
