Leo spotted a bumblebee zooming past his nose. "Wait for me!" he called, and took off after it.
He ducked under a leafy hedge where the grass grew wild and tickled his chin. The bumblebee looped in circles above him.
Leo knelt and gasped. A whole patch of wild strawberries, glowing like jewels among the green leaves.
Leo picked one strawberry and held it up. Then he heard a soft sniff at the base of the stone wall. A tiny hedgehog peeked out from behind a clump of clover.
Leo slowly held out the strawberry. The hedgehog stepped forward and wrapped its little paws around the berry. "You're welcome," he whispered.
Leo sat beside the stone wall while the hedgehog munch the strawberry, one bite at a time. The bumblebee returned and landed on his knee.
Leo stayed very still, watching the golden garden go on around them. The bumblebee hummed a quiet tune.
The hedgehog finished its strawberry and trotted off into the green. Leo waved, then smiled at the buzzing bee.
