Lía kicks a red crayon across the room. It rolls into a pile of overturned books. The classroom looks like a storm swept through it.
Lía picks up the crayon. She walks to the shelf and puts it in its box. Crayons go here, she says softly.
Lía picks up three books and stacks them neatly. Then she carries a tower of blocks to their bin. She hums a cleaning song under her breath.
Lía tips over a bin of toy cars and they scatter everywhere. Oops! she says, blinking. Then she grins and sweeps them all into a basket with one big whoosh.
Mia walks over and picks up a puzzle piece. Tom grabs the scissors from the rug and holds them out. Lía opens a drawer wide.
They fill the drawer together — pencils, erasers, markers — until it clicks shut with a satisfied thump.
Lía sits cross-legged on the tidy rug. Everything has a home.
Her classmates are already building a tower with the blocks, and it stands perfectly straight.
