Lily held her bright red ball. "Look at my ball!" she said happily.
She threw the ball high into the sky, shouting "Up, up, up!" But it came right back down — bonk! — right on her head. She wobbled, eyes wide, then giggled as it bounced away.
Lily chased the red ball across the grass. She tripped over her own hooves and tumbled headfirst into a big pile of crunchy brown leaves.
The leaves tickled her nose. She sneezed — Achoo! — and the red ball rolled even further away.
Just as she reached for the ball, it bounced onto the low garden wall. She tried to climb up, but her hooves kept slipping on the smooth stones.
She grunted and wiggled, stuck halfway. A friendly butterfly landed softly on her nose. She held very still — but it fluttered away, and down she tumbled onto a soft patch of clover right next to the ball!
Lily snagged the red ball with her teeth and let out a happy "Mmm!" She flopped onto her back, kicking her legs, and hugged the ball close to her heart.
The sun warmed her woolly coat as she giggled. The ball was still warm from all that bouncing. Best day ever.
