Lina stomped her foot. She dragged her rubber duck into the corner and pulled a blanket over her head.
Mom called from the doorway, "Family time!"
A paper crown peeked under the blanket. A tiny wooden spoon went *clink clink* against a teacup.
Lina crawled out and marched her truck toward the garden door. "I'm driving to the moon!"
Dad hopped like a silly alien. Grandma blew dandelion fluff into the wind. Mom set out three cups.
Lina grabbed the duck and draped the blanket over the table. "Hold on!" she yelled. Grandma's laugh shook the sugar bowl.
Lina zoomed the truck through the blanket tunnel. Dad tossed confetti from a birthday card. The sun warmed their faces.
They played until long purple shadows stretched across the grass. The yellow truck sat in the center of the circle with dusty wheels.
Lina passed the wooden spoon to Grandma with a sleepy smile.
"Can we play again tomorrow?" she asked.
