BZZZT! The alarm clock screams. Spider-man throws back the covers and yawns. Through the window, the bakery storefront is dark and empty.
Three grumpy gremlins stomp down the cobblestones, each balancing a birthday cake on its head. They look like they are in a terrible mood.
Spider-man hooks his rope to the brick chimney. He SWINGS over the rooftops, whooshing past the little town houses. The brick tiles blur below him.
"Whoops," Spider-man mutters, his rope clipping a doorknob. Below, the gremlins duck under a red awning. The middle cake wobbles dangerously.
Spider-man tiptoes back into the bakery. He dumps a mountain of pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles across the cobblestones. A huge pink slide forms.
He paints SLIP-HERE in blue icing on the ground. Three gremlins peek around the corner. They snort at the sign.
SPLAT! The lead gremlin's boots hit the frosting and all three SKID, arms flailing. Cakes still balanced on their heads. Sprinkles burst into the air like confetti.
The gremlins tumble into a soft frosting puddle. They sit sticky-beaked, staring up at Spider-man. One of them looks like it wants to laugh.
One gremlin blinks, then giggles. It holds out a wobbly cake slice to Spider-man. He takes it, still dusted in pink.
The bakery square fills up. Candles flicker, plates clink, and everyone sings. The gremlins sit cross-legged in the sprinkles, grinning wide.
