Lucia dropped the heavy box on the piano keys. THUD! The ivory keys wiggled like angry teeth.
One friend tapped the box with a ruler. Another hummed a low note. The cardboard vibrated against her fingertips.
A loose screw rattled out from underneath. It rolled across the floor toward the open window.
She held the screw near the strings. Cata Z struck a high C chord. The screw jumped into the air!
The screw landed perfectly on a middle C key. Sofi laughed and blew flour onto the vibrating strings.
The white powder clung to the strings, creating a swirling cloud that danced in the sunlight.
Lucia smiled and pressed down gently on the keys where the flour settled. The music sounded soft and fuzzy.
Her friends joined in, humming along until the whole room felt warm and bright.
