Lucy watched the rosebush twitch. A tiny green dragon peeked out and sneezed. *Achoo!* Popcorn kernels scattered across the grass.
She crouched low and whispered, 'Hello?' The dragon peeked one big eye around a leaf. Lucy reached out a finger.
*Pfft!* Three more kernels landed at her fingertips. She picked one up, feeling its warmth, and grinned. 'You're making snacks.'
The dragon buried its snout in its wings. But one ear wiggled. Lucy giggled and reached into her pocket for her cookie tin.
She ran to the porch and came back with the empty cookie tin. She held it out like a bowl. The dragon tilted its head.
*CHOO!* Golden popcorn rained into the tin. Lucy tipped it and kernels tumbled into her lap. She laughed.
They sat side by side on the warm grass. *Crunch. Crunch.* Lucy popped a kernel into her mouth and chewed happily.
The dragon let out a happy little *huff* that ruffled Lucy's hair. She laughed and offered the tin closer.
The tin was empty except for one kernel. The dragon sneezed it gently into Lucy's hand. It had shaped like a heart.
She pocketed the kernel and patted the dragon's head. 'Same time tomorrow?' The dragon nodded. A puff of sparkles drifted into the sunset.
